Pre/Postnatal & Menopausal Fitness

As a mom of two boys, I know how greatly motherhood can affect our minds and bodies. There are so many changes that take place over the course of our lifetime as women - from pregnancy to postpartum to menopause. It is for these reasons that I decided to specialize in women’s fitness - as a way, within my scope of capability, of giving back to other women.

 

All of my programs can be designed and modified with your changing body in mind, using the safest, most up-to-date techniques. Whether you want to prepare your body for an upcoming pregnancy, get back into shape after giving birth, or are looking to build bone strength and relieve symptoms after going through menopause - I got you covered.

Pregnant Belly

Deep core and Pelvic Floor Strengthening

Pregnancy can cause a weakening of the abdominal wall and pelvic floor, causing urinary incontinence, diastasis recti and even sexual dysfunction. By incorporating certain techniques into your program, we can help strengthen these muscles to correct the issues associated with them.

Menopause symptom relief

Studies show that different menopausal symptoms, such as hot flashes and anxiety, are alleviated best by specific exercise types and intensities. Let me help you find the right combination for your specific concerns!

Building bone strength and density

After menopause, bone density decreases by up to 10% in the first 5 years. Studies show that 1 in 2 women will suffer bone fractures due to this bone loss. However, there are forms of exercise we can incorporate into your program that can help maintain - or even reverse - excess loss of bone density after menopause.

Balance and Posture correction

During pregnancy, our body's center of gravity shifts due to a temporary change in our anatomy. Postpartum, this can manifest as postural issues and balance problems, which can lead to things like muscle imbalance and poor muscle tone, injury and chronic back pain.
